Yoko Ono

 Yoko Ono es una cantante y artista japonesa que a sus 89 años sigue en activo. Es conocida por haber sido la mujer de Jonh Lennon, pero Yoko se ha labrado una carrera de éxito gracias a la música y el arte.

 

En cuanto al arte, esta artista del arte conceptual esta especializada en las instalaciones artísticas y las performances, ya que busca trascender con su mensaje. Además, su preocupación por el movimiento feminista trasciende a sus obras.

Un ejemplo de ello es la instalación de Cut Piece (1965), en la cual Ono estaba de rodillas en el escenario invitando a los espectadores a que se acercaran a ella y le cortaran la ropa con unas tijeras. Así, el espectador desnudaba a un cuerpo pasivo ante la mirada de todos, mostrando la perspectiva de género y el machismo de la sociedad. 

Otro ejemplo de sus obras es la realizada en 1966, en la cual expuso una manzana verde, con el objetivo de mostrar el paso del tiempo a los espectadores. Estos además, podían interactuar con ella, como hizo su marido Jonh Lennon, mordiéndola y dejándola en su lugar.

An example of this is the installation Cut Piece (1965), in which Ono was on her knees on stage, inviting viewers to approach her and cut off her clothes with a pair of scissors. In this way, the spectator undressed a passive body before the gaze of all, showing the gender perspective and the machismo of society. 

Another example of his works is the one made in 1966, in which he exhibited a green apple, with the aim of showing the passage of time to the spectators. They could also interact with it, as her husband John Lennon did, by biting it and leaving it in its place.
